Specialty Programs:

Aquatic Therapy
An exercise program that is performed in the water.  It uses the physical properties of water to assist in healing and exercise performance.

TAPE (Torticollis and Plagiocephaly Evaluation) Program
A program for babies with a diagnosis of Infant Torticollis and/or Plagiocephaly that uses a combination of measuring the baby's head, direct therapy, a home program for stretching and positioning , and when needed a consultation and treatment by an orthotist for a helmet to reshape the head.

Auditory Verbal Therapy
A program designed to teach a child to use the hearing provided by a hearing aid or a cochlear implant for understanding speech and learning to talk.

PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
A type of augmentative-alternative communication for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and/or related developmental disabilities.  This program uses pictures in order to promote communication between a child and his/her communication partners.

Oral Placement Therapy
A type of oral motor therapy used by speech-language pathologists to target specific movements needed for speech clarity and feeding.  The program consists of hierarchies and uses tools such as straws, horns, bubbles, and food.

Beckman Oral Motor Protocol
A type of oral motor therapy that consists of specific oral motor stretches and stimulation techniques to improve the range, strength, variety and control of the lips, cheeks, jaw, tongue, and soft palate.  This program does not require the cognitive participation of a child.

PROMPT
A technique where a trained therapist physically manipulates a child's jaw, face, and mouth to show him/her how a speech sound, sounds in the words, or words in sentences are produced.

Interactive Metronome
A computer-based training program that improves attention, coordination, and timing for individuals with sensory processing difficulties.

Therapeutic Listening
A program where a child listens to specially designed music that is individually selected for each child by a trained therapist to improve such things as attention, emotional state, self regulation, motor planning, and social skills.

SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding Therapy
A program that allows a child to interact with food in a playful, non-stressful way.  It follows a hierarchy of feeding, from tolerating foods in the room, interacting with foods, smelling, touching, tasting, and eventually eating the food.

NDT (Neuro-Developmental Therapy)
A specialized treatment approach to help children with motor coordination problems.  It is a program that inhibits abnormal movement so that normal patterns of movement can be facilitated.

Sensory Integration Therapy
A program that involves specific sensory activities (swinging, bouncing, brushing, etc.) to help the child regulate his/her sensory response.

SaeboFlex
A custom fabricated orthosis that is designed to allow individuals suffering from neurological impairment the ability to incorporate their hand functionally in therapy and at home by supporting the weakened wrist, hand, and fingers.

Therapressure Protocol
A program that is often referred to as "brushing" that is used to treat children with sensory defensiveness.  It uses a frequent, deep pressure of a soft, densely bristled brush to increase the child's ability to regulate his/her behavioral response to stimuli.

Handwriting without Tears
A program that focuses on making legible and fluent handwriting an easy and automatic skill that children can master. 

Alert Program for Self-Regulation
A program that teaches children a variety of strategies to strengthen their abilities to learn, interact with others, and work or play.  Children not only learn to monitor their level of alertness, but improve in self-esteem and self-confidence skills.
